This workshop is held yearly within the ERASMUS framework. Five undergraduate students are selected to participate to this multi-disciplinary workshop hosted in Paris by the Ecole des Ponts, ParisTech (ENPC) and the Ecole d’ Architecture de la Ville & des Territoires (EAVT) at Marne-La-Vallee.

The course is an exemplary academic module that encourages experimentation and applied research in a design research setup. The distance between theory and practice is diminished by simulating the work conditions of the professional environment within an academic context.
The course “Ateliers Design” is a week-long intensive design-build workshop intended for 1st year engineering and 3rd year architecture or design students. The participants are allocated to multi-disciplinary teams (3-5 students) and work towards different themes led by two instructors for each theme, an architect and an engineer. The projects are carried through from initial design scheme to final implementation.
The design outcome, ranging from industrial design to architectural design proposals, is presented in the form of sketches, physical models or full-scale structures, and evaluated by an external jury.
A final phase to present the results of the workshop in the form of an exhibition or publication is expected upon return to Greece.
