CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS - CONSTRUCTION I
ΤΕ0101, TECHNOLOGY,
Obligatory, Semester 1, ECTS: 4

SUBJECT

As part of an introductive cycle of courses on building construction, the course aims to analyse the role of materials and technologies in production planning and architecture. The most basic categories of building materials are concisely presented: the ways they are industrialized or produced by hand, as well as environmental subjects that are related to this sucb as energy, toxicity and recycling. In the course we aim at developing knowledge among architecture, technology, and the arts (philosophy of technology) and at promoting familiarization with the materials and the technologies of manufacture. The students’ evaluation is based on homework done during the semester.
