Elective at semester(s) 6, 8, ECTS: 3
Taught in: Greek, Available to ERASMUS on request

LEARNING OUTCOMES

This is a continuationof the course "Lighting Design I" which covers the basic principles and aimsat:

  • Presenting the  designmethodologies for a number of cases
  • designing daylighting systems using dept’s artificial sky facility.
  • Using measurement equipment (illuminance meters, luminance camera, High Dynamic Range) in buildings surveys
  • Using simulation for estimation of lighting energy savings due to daylight
  • Designing luminaries with specialized software

SUBJECT

·International code/norms review

·Case studies ( α) Public  open space  β) Road c)Industrial building ) ·Daylight systems design  (case study : Reflective Lightself design using scale models and comparing measurements with simulations) ·Realization of measurements. Istrumentation operation, use of illuminance/luminance meters and HDR technique in real buildngs. ·Estimation of lighting energy saving using mainly EN 15193/2007. ·Design principles for luminaire reflector. Specialized  software is used   to calculate photometric properties.

ASSESSMENT

a) Small project(30%)  b) Oral examinations on specific project (70%)
