The course focuses on a series of artistic practices from the history of the art of the second half of the 20th century (travel and tour, map and ground, relations of speech and image, mechanisms of archives and museums). It follows -through examples- the relocations and strategies of art which have had a special significance so far and offer the chance to invent new ones. The students’ projects are formed through the theoretic references made during the lectures of both the instructor and guest artists and scientists. Emphasis is put on the usage of several artistic means, as the ability to make correlations among them, their assembly, seems more consistent to modern experience than a development of dexterities in certain and distinct artistic means. The aim of the course is to finally familiarize the students with osmosis procedures between architecture and art. The impromptu conjunctions of abstraction and language, matter and object, sight and site, which occur in buildings, but also in models, ground plans and other architectural representations, become at the same time both the raw material and the objective of student projects.
