Within the frame of Photography: art and theory, the students are introduced to this new visual vocabulary through an initially historical and theoretical approach. While in the process of understanding the complex relations between the man-made (built)  environment and its depiction, the students are asked to recognise the variety of social, political and economical conditions that form contemporary architecture and the way it is visually perceived. After a number of seminars that deal with theoretical and technical issues concerning the art of photography and architecture, the students are, then, asked to perform two practice-based projects, each lasting four weeks. Through photographic practice, they gradually embrace the collaboration between theory and craftsmanship, form and function, and last but not least, the  artist and his/hers public.
