The aim of the course is to introduce students to the basic principles and concepts of cartography science, which methodologically manages, analyzes and expresses ideas, structures and relationships that evolve into two-dimensional and three-dimensional space so that they can cope with any activity within which, the presentation and use of maps is fundamental.

Cartographic data and mapping of geographic entities.
Cartographic symbols, visual cartographic symbol variables. Map typography.
Topographic maps and methods for rendering the relief.
Visual perception. Creation and specifications of symbols, color and pattern.
Assessment is based on students' participation in the lesson, laboratory exercises and written examinations.
