LEARNING OUTCOMES
Knowledge, Comprehension, Synthesis, Evaluation
When architecture deals with the transformation of the ground is destined to rework and elaborate a certain transition: from natural to crafted, from unformed into ordered, from wild to tamed. This transition must remain active and manifest in the final outcome.
The course is addressing the re-structuring of outdoor spaces. We focus on sites that are ambiguous, unsettled and marginal. In such places, design must acknowledge the inherent tensions, traces and interconnections of the site, and metabolize them into a newarchitectural presence, in a novel and yet familiar landscape.
