The main aim of the studio is to explore the spatial characteristics of video games. Video games are a powerful technological tool that nowadays affects as well as expresses the socio-cultural tendencies of the society from which they evolve. The objective of this course is to study and analyze the communication language they use, as this is instructed by contemporary technologies or the corresponding accompanying narratives.
The course will focus on the relationship between video games and architecture. Students will be offered the chance to get their hands on the notions of digital experience, cyberspace and interactivity and afterwards they will be asked to research and comment on the spatial characteristics that can potentially be used as useful design tools.
