LEARNING OUTCOMES

Εach student will present a museological study on a subject of his/her choice and its architectural presentation in a specific space which may belong to an already existing museum, to a monument or to a newly purpose constructed on building.

SUBJECT

The museological study will involve a detailed definition of the object, the scale and type of exhibits, their arrangement within the interior of each unit -by subject, place of origin, style or period- their visual communication or isolation, the exhibition surface required, the itineraries through the exhibition space (global or specialised public, schools, disabled etc.)

The museographic study will examine the manner in which the exhibits should be displayed, in order to ensure the optimal integration of the museum infrastructure into the existing building (materials, colours, dimensions), the position and dimensions of explanatory texts and illustrations, lighting conditions (natural or artificial, intensity and quality of lighting, protection from UV and IR radiation etc), the use of special visual effects, video, etc.
