The basic objective of the course is the design of modern exhibition installations which redefine our relation to production procedures, try out new strategies, experiment with materials, invent new structures and finally expand our experience, so that they manage to create a unique impression in a limited space and at the least possible time.
Nowadays exhibitions, cultural events and public activities are prevailing systems of expression for architecture and culture. Exhibitions are used by countries, educational institutions, museums and companies as a universal way of transmitting information and knowledge. Exhibition installation design is considered, more and more, as a very important type of creative expression with complex boundaries and an interdisciplinary character, due to the fact that it shares common ground with a number of artistic trends and is directly connected to fields such as graphics, fashion, lighting, advertising and the new media. To exhibit means to present, to offer, to show works of art, objects or ideas: in other words, to uncover them.
