The research idea is trying to approach the concept of a different form of habitation in the landscape of the Greek islands. Attempt geometric landscape through the formation of trenches and the redefinition of pezoulas. The trenches define paths while receiving and habitation. Created a move freely the explorer- staying faces examines the environment or the landscape for building having around a landscape alive. The objective is to rearrange the landscape in such a way so as to receive functions. The trail helps the path that dominates nature, surveillance points and habitation. The study also discusses the concept of reversible. The trenches is irreversible intervention and programs in this reversible, that this addition may be removed. This creates the trail of course.

The trenches are small creek valley between the area and the monastery Agioi Anargiroi. Composed of three main axes-slots having different geometry and is independent. The first slot is placed in the heart of the valley in which there sheep house and winery. The second and third slots have similar functions to this basic habitation. Total have 22 rooms. These take place social actions. Apart from the main functions are ancillary and secondary (laundry, kitchen, shower, tank for the flock) which placed the tentacles extensions trenches. The tentacles enhance the immersion process into the earth and re-emergence on the surface.

The primitive landscape is the dominant element in which people hide fortified and modern disparate programs. In this landscape the holidaymaker trying to master to protect and autonomous.

In this thesis, the relation between the ruins combined with the forest landscape is investigated. Through landscape analysis and through the history of the estates, as well as through its use today, hiking and bicycle routes are proposed, through which the visitor comes into contact with the history of these estates, observing both the existing buildings and the natural beauty of the landscape. Specifically, six routes are proposed, with gradations in difficulty level from two different entries of the estate.

Subsequently, wooden structures are located on different places in the estates, along the proposed routes, with the aim of facilitating the visitors while enhancing the recreational use. In this way, α mild intervention take place in the landscape converting the visitors from observers to active users. Specifically, a construction for rest and food is designed, a construction for toilets which collects the rain water, a fountain which is designed with the same construction rules as the toilet, a playground and an observation tower.

Like the leaves fall into the ground, different surfaces fall into the ground as well, without intervening it. As they fall, the surfaces are divided into individual sections, each one is transformed to create from kiosks to seats. Furthermore, these sections are adjusted according to the location of the trees around them. In this way, a dialog is created between the natural and the artificial element.

The motive for the subject of this thesis is the activity of cycling for wine-tasting tours, and particularly those that take place in the region of Upland Corinth. The approach of the matter was given through a discussion with a friend, who had attended a bicycle tour in the region of Nemea. We made three trips to the region in order to experience it, to visit some of the wineries and find other points of interest that could support and enrich the activity.

The thesis is developed based on the analysis and the description of the area, of the geographical data, crops, roads and settlements that form the basis for the prosecution of the wine-tasting tours. Some of the typical routes are highlighted and studied in reference to altitude, the network of wineries, views and possible connections to the archaeological sites. Also through interview and virtual form, data for the cyclists who already participate is collected.

The proposal consists of the definition of a route in the area, and stops to points as the wineries and archaeological sites. Specifically, a unit for stopover of the cyclists is proposed at the archaeological sites of the Temple of Hercules, of Fliountas and the Mycenaean cemetery of Aidonia. In addition, the old warehouses of the Autonomous organization for the production of raisin (A.S.O.) of Nemea, are deployed as the route’s start point and the fountains at the entrance of the village Platani, as a point of completion of the route or a point of continuation to the Lake of Stymphalia.

The current thesis examines the study of a city block as a new operational unit in the Greek cityscape of Athens. The ascertainment that the Greek city presents distinctiveness’s due to its structure composes some fundamental questions which encourage us to observe the city itself. How did the city create?  How did the city evolve? What are the potentials of being changed? Settling the concept of density as a pillar and ascertaining that the city is getting under populated, our analysis and our strategic proposal of the city block evolution is presented. Our strategic proposal conforms to the ration of a rule, which tries to aware every time the city needs and transforms into a dynamic regulation. The structural study of a city block focuses on the micro-scale design in an architectural level of the city, trying to answer to the modern questions which emerge every time. In this current thesis, a study of city block 78088 is occurred and furthermore, some strategies of potential development are being discussed. Through the city block 78088, which is an example of solution, we can generalize to a regulation level and embed it to the New General Building Regulation according to the dilution factor [D. F.].

Massive population movements are not a modern circumstance but a recurring phenomenon that occurs when some conditions are favorable. The case of an acute socio-political situation, economic crisis and the most extreme cases of war (as it happens nowadays) or a dictatorship are the most common causes of resorting to asylum and migration to other countries.

As we observe this happening, we see thousands of people to be pushed to their limits without decent living conditions, and small provinces bear burdens disproportionate to their size.

From the architectural point of view, this is certainly a situation that cannot be ignored, and a challenge for effective planning of settlements which has to meet the basic needs of these people, giving them the opportunity for more ownership and adaptation to their individual needs over time.

As a result of a cognitive process that addresses all these needs, is to create a method capable to be adapted in many different sites and environments, and developed in different scales. Basic proposal of the specific diploma project is a settlement for 250 refugees and immigrants, with 56 homes for families and individuals. The proportion between the two cases of the proposal has been calculated based on statistical data.

They have been examined in depth, the room, the house and the complex as a whole, and been created some variations of the basic proposal, one of which meets the needs of 1000 persons, including further examination

The formulation of the city of Volos the last years has been deeply affected by the existence of the University. The imageof the city, as well as its economy, would be completely different without the students, regarding their big population in relationto the size of the city. Observationsaround our everyday life operated as a jumping off point. Part of the formulation of the everyday life of the students has to do with the temporary nature of student residency in the city (one example - the students who leave with the erasmous program and look for a storage space for their domestic belongings while being away). Another observation has to do with the dipoles of public-private, familiar-unfamiliar. We were interested in how one can observe different types of intimacies in the public space, through the different gradations of these dipoles.

The proposalresulted from those observations, that have to do with the daily life as well as with the use of space. The project is about the distribution of some operations that have to do with everyday life, in specific locations of the city. The locations are places that are secondary, "non-places", a category of "urban voids" that are activated with the addition of "day accommodation spaces". The program consists of the following uses: communal washing machines, storage spaces for the students who leave with the erasmous program, space for the rehearsal of music bands, working out space, outdoor studying spaces, complementary resting spaces, outdoor library. The program corresponds to the uses of a student dormitory, scattered in the city, without being aimed exclusively at students. The choice of the distribution of the usesin three different locations instead of their concertation creates a more intense interaction with the city. The structure also has a temporary character: it can be disassembled and stored in a space specially designated for this usage (abandoned building). Those added spaces are complementary to the existing residency infrastructure and do not intend to replace it. The day accommodation equipments function as facilities, as some more opportunities that the city can provide, an opening (up) of the everyday life, an additional possibility in the public space. Mundane, everyday activities that are associated with the private - domestic sphereare taking place in the public space, and in that way different shades of common and instant intimacies are created in the city.

The present diplomatic work concerns the urban renewall of University Square in Volos, and also two at both sides building squares , in combination with the appointment of the academic building of the tobacco industry Matsaggou, where will be entertained the Department of Economic Sciences of University of Thessaly.

The University Square is found in the center of the city. The limits of the plot are the busy pedestrian shopping street of Ermou, the mainer exit road artery of the city and the roads Dimitriados, Iolkou, and Koutarelia. The particular square was created, on the one side, in order to elect the historical building of the tobacco industry Matsaggou, and on the other side, in order to enlarge the horizon of the city, with its public use.

Stimulus for the development of this thesis was the fact that the specific location, situated in the heart of the city and possessing a completely important position in it, is offered for a wider reformation. The result will be the cover of the wider - multidimensional needs. The aim is to create a multifunctional space, which, on the one hand, will be able to cover the minor housing needs by offering modern labour spaces, offices, small residences and on the other hand, will also strengthen the cultural activity of the city with the foundation of a modern museum and halls of events- projections.  At the same time, through gestures and infrustuctures, the aim is to encourage and serve soft sport activities, walks, events and attitudes as well as the relaxation of citizens of all social groups, without discrimination, via a harmonious and functional coexistence. There is the ambition, the square to be developed in a space with double substance, through a planned configuration. On the one hand any daily - normal behaviors can be received and on the other, they can be shaped in a peculiar way, creating new challenges and stimulus, encouraging social intercourse and spontaneous activities, regardless of the dense layout. By bringing together traces of memories of the past and the necessities arising from the daily routine, should constitute a vital pole of attraction, a benchmark for the future, which will determine the character of the city and will be the strongest landmark. Having the advantage of adjacency to the University, can be developed into a small town, into the whole city. There, not only the usual social activities will take place, but also the diversity will be encouraged, will be revealed unexpected and surprises, and new behaviors and habits will be formed.  Success will be the development in a new setting, which will entertain a collection of alternating images and experiences, that will enrich unique the mind and delight the soul.

The very core of our idea, is the revitalization of the Industrial Area of Volos, by creating an urban model with a different structure than the existing one. The coexistence of work, the permanent or temporary housing, education, research and entertainment are offered and well combined in that model. The structure of the function of that model, is based on the interaction and the correlation of the above mentioned, thus creating a social, research, sustainable environment and an alternative workspace. Especially, the connection line between work and research is the standard production, which at first stage, aims to to optimize the production and at a second one the standards of living, by spreading expertise and by enabling both the researchers and the workers to have an overall participation throughout the process.
