Short bio:
Eleni Katrini is a designer and researcher with experience in academia, local government, private and voluntary sector. Her research, practice, and teaching focus on the fields of urban commons, sharing, collective housing, urban ecology, strategic and participatory design. Eleni has worked extensively on participatory projects in Greece, the US and UK. She enjoys exploring everyday social life through participation, research, observation, and visual storytelling. Through her work she aspires to make cities more environmentally regenerative and socially inclusive places to live in. 

She is currently a Postdoctoral Marie Curie Research Fellow and Adjunct Faculty at the School of Architecture, at the National Technical University of Athens. In the past, Eleni taught at the Schools of Architecture at Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Sheffield. She obtained her Architecture diploma from the National Technical University of Athens, her MS in Sustainable Design and PhD from Carnegie Mellon University. Her PhD thesis had the title: “Creating the Everyday Commons. Spatial Patterns of Sharing Culture”.
