THEORY AND DESIGN OF SMALL SCALE OBJECTS: every(day) thing
Collaborator: Mikael Softas
SUBJECT
The studio investigates how everyday living is being formed by the use of utilitarian objects. Objects influence the ritual (performativity) of every day life. The projects should analyze, conceive and introduce both objects and performative modes of everyday living. The methodological approach is based on a fourhold of design acts: To cut (from a certain material context), to transform (matter into object), to attach (to every-day living), to forward (the object to communication networks and the market). An exhibition of the objects in public space (with its curatorial part) is the final outcome of the studio.
