Description
The workshop ‘Tourism Habitat. The Re-use of the Abandoned Xenia Hotel in Tsagarada, Pelion’ will focus on the case-study of the Xenia Hotel in Tsagarada, on the Pelios Mountain, designed in 1957 by Charalampos Sfaellο(1914-2004) that since 2000 has been in a state of abandonment. Participants will investigate new strategies of temporary dwelling, that should be flexible and inclusive and that, at the same time, should pay attention to the specific climatic and environmental conditions of a certain place, envisioning future scenarios for tourism as well as to challenge the possibility of the re-use of abandoned buildings.

The workshop is open to students from Greece and Abroad, in particular to:
- Undergraduate students at the 4th and 5th years of Schools of Architecture in Greece
- Postgraduate and PhD students
- Young professionals that obtained their diploma not later that 3 years ago
