The present study analyzes the concept of the garden city and its possible implemented forms in the eyes of ‘Utopia’ as a global phenomenon. With the help of examples, an attempt is made to approach the term "Kipoupoli", which appeared at a time when new urban design ideas were in full swing. Giving examples of Utopian cities helps to understand, as much as possible, the way Utopians think and their ideas. In addition, diagrammatic sketches present these possible examples of cities compared to the original concept that concerns us, that of Utopia. In the first part, the concepts of garden city and utopia are analyzed through relevant examples of application of utopian ideas and their historical heritage. Then, the term "Garden City" is extensively mentioned and the goals and expectations of Ebenezer Howard, English town planner and creator of the term, as well as its application in the real world, as well as an analysis of his two garden cities, are presented.
In the second part, a detailed description of some new settlements is made, based on the model of the Ebenezer Howard garden city during the 20th century and their comparison based on the concept of Utopia. In the third part, an attempt is made to approach this concept through the developments of the 21st century and the new challenges it has created. With the help of examples that use from different points of view the principles and ideas of Kipoupoli, some possible versions of a present Kipoupoli are presented. Finally, the causes of the failure or success of garden cities are sought, in order to identify the possible forms that this concept could take today for the best possible treatment of the problems of our time.
