The technological and socio-economic developments that took place the last decades in the European space, led to the repression of the industrial operation. When the industry removed, left a enormous of buildings and disturbed the balance of urban web.

The objective of this work is the investigation of possibilities of inactive industrial building of participating again actively in the social , political and economic life of city, through adaptive reuse. The main question of our work was, under what circumstances the industrial building may contribute to the recovery of degraded areas and revitalize them, and finally if the industrial building can function as urban lever and urban development.

Through the study of reuse examples in Europian and Greek cities, whether for partial reuse or are part of larger regeneration m we tried to reach the goal of our research.
