Architectural design is a creative process whereat the architect searches via varied actions, techniques and methodologies the expedient composition. Many types of representation appear in the design process like sketches, diagrams, text and visual or sonic acts. The designer through them expresses and deploys his ideas. During the design the design actions can connect, inter-cover or alternate proportionately. This study concerns the diagram ‘s function in the design.
The diagram is also been used in order to explore the possible solutions and to organize the data from the first stage of the design. The architect uses it in an abstract way initially with the application of generative material. This material can be inborn forces from each site, figurative translated data and ideas but also it can be anything that can comprise inspiration for the creative design. Diagrams contain data, which are introduced by the designer, that in combination with the parameters which are been set, they constitute the forces of their evolution in abstracted graphic representations, images or models. The designer ‘s creativity appears not only in the act of design but also in the act of codification and the use of the initial material.
