The students’ independent habitation during their studies is a special characteristic- space habitation. It has both permanent (for duration of 5 years) and temporary character because afterwards there will be a change of residence. It usually constitutes the first independent habitation (outside the family home) for a majority of students but is in the first phase at least formed by others (the family and rarely in Greece a student habitation organization). In this space the student develops mechanisms of appropriation and socialization and forms relationships with others.
Every space to a high degree forms a resemblance to each person’s personality and psychism. Man marks the space he lives in, gives it personality but also differentiates in this way relationship zones with others. Spatial design apart from the obvious reasons of function management inside the house has also a role inthe control of privacy. The way space is formed, is controlled by rules of desired privacy, as the objects that become gradually visible or otherwise stay hidden, give the desired attitude message from the owner to the visitor.
The present research has the following goals:
-to analyze the phases of the relationship between person and space
-to examine ways of person’s appropriation with the space as well as ways, through which space develops personality.
-and finally to examine the objects set in space, what every person wants to express through these, which are the transferred messages and in which spatial attitude they are translated .
