A common phenomenon inside large buildings (hospitals, airports, universities, etc.) is the difficulty of finding the desired target, which is the reason for our visit. The research paper ¨Lost in the Building ¨ investigates this phenomenon and why people get lost and confused in these spaces. Wayfinding around public buildings ends up being a tedious and frustrating process. The visitor is required to make decisions and navigate in an unknown environment to him so far. Layout complexity, insufficient or non-existent signage, and multiple selection points are some of the factors that lead to this confusion and anxiety. A building must be legible to those who visit it for the first time. Part of this research paper is also personal research at the University of Economics of Volos. Its aim is to consider the completeness of the signage, the legible floor plan, and other elements that make it a comfortable environment for those who visit it.
