The present research work is the result of personal reflection on the ongoing global phenomenon of COVID-19 pandemic and examines the implications and the changes in outdoor design at private and public levels. Its purpose is to highlight critical issues that concern cities and searching new ways of design approach and architectural structure in them. The methodology of the research work is mainly based on the personal research of a questionnaire where through it, arise the issues that we will analyze. Of course the topic we are going to deal with is also based on scientific articles, study sections, documented literature, views from the field of architecture, scientific announcements forums, article announcements and internet information.The gathered material is up-to-date information and responds to the developments we experience every day, as a result of which it is constantly updated throughout the course of this research work. Initially, the introductory part records the overall methodology of the research work, as well as the reason for choosing the theme. Then, for the effectiveness of the research work, a questionnaire was prepared which aims to extract views and information about the everyday people habits and cover the issues of both private and public space from three completely different populations’ areas within Greece, where it is the municipality of Peristeri, the city of Trikala and Kalampaka. Afterward, reference is made to the theoretical approach of the concepts that occupied us, the private outdoor space, the public private space, as well as the public space. In The next chapter describes the concerns as well as the solutions that have been identified in the three completely different population areas within Greece that we mentioned in the questionnaire which are mainly related to private and public space and its availability, the needs of citizens for green and free spaces, as well as the various proposals and solutions to address the above problems. The research work is completed with conclusions that attempt to specify new design axes in architecture due to the pandemic crisis and aims to highlight new design trends and needs in urban design as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic.
