They say that "there is no parthenogenesis" in the ideas that man conceives. However, he is a being with the ability to imagine… always distorting the nature of things. With speech and images that he creates, he can and does create a new reality. And where do we find stories “lying”? … In fairy tales, yes! Inside there, there is a whole world over the centuries that began as a consolation by moms and grandparents, it was heard by the Storytellers and now is written by people who bring their own personal experiences. In fairy tales, there are heroes who act or react, in front of a scene in pictures but also in a wider space… the space of illustrated children's book (something that was studied and attached to the insert appendix of the work). It is this setting that is constantly changing and interacting with the heroes. What forms it? And the most familiar place to all of us that brings experienced stage images, that also influence us and we form it, is home
With criteria stories to contain concepts or images of houses, there were for analysis selected the appropriate books of Greek and foreign authors or illustrators (65 as basics and 40 as a short report) from the last twenty years (1998-2019). Through their texts in combination with the images, but also with the help of Gaston’s Bachellard texts, The Poetics of Space - which captures house images as "the topography of the interior being" - we try focusing on the setting of the house, to interpret the architectural forms and also in relation to the way that characters of contemporary fairy tales experience its various spaces.
