The concept of waiting introduces a situation which occurs in space, develops in time and is emotionally experienced. This refers to a condition emerging interrelations between three fundamental entities, those of space, time and multitude –three ambiguous dimensions, approached separately along with an attempt of elucidation.
Therefore, intrinsic space of waiting is considered as a collective lieu designated by the bipolar of pause and people’s flow and as transition pending between certainties and prevailing identities, while a reference is made to immaterial space hosting waiting.
Based on the equivalence of waiting and time passing, theories about time’s philosophical dimension and its role as a generator of inertia and bore are being developed.
Waiting cannot exist, if there is nobody to wait. Multitude is introduced as the third component of the situation of waiting and is examined under the sociological context of transitive times (time in between), while linear succession of waiting crowd –waiting queue- underlies this mindset.
Under any scenario, waiting generates situations involving bodies and activates relations and thoughts among humans. This element will trigger the thesis’s interest, in an effort of collecting waiting snapshots, regarding its material and immaterial aspects.
Overall, through catalog system, a cumulative and analytical (over its components) approach of waiting facts is attempted, intending to redetermine concept as field of actions and co-existences.
Polysemy, which comes as basis to thesis structure, enables probabilities of re-evaluation of concepts being used and their descriptive hyperlinks.
