The era of modernism brought about significant changes both in Europe and America, changes that affected human life greatly and the results of those changes can be traced out to present time. During that period the city transformed, the urban planning broke free from the Renaissance standards and modern cities changed, the functions of the classical core began to decay and the city expanded beyond this, the functions of the city separated by spatial concepts and the era of the city multiplied. As a result of the large spatial extension of the city, the need to travel has increased significantly and the need to cover it fulfilled by the car. An invention that began as a privilege for the few but evolved into an indispensable tool that the majority had access to in order to enable movement to become easier. This correlation, of the car with the city, gave the architects what they needed to engage themselves with the car design. To many modernist architects, design car caught their interest because they saw it as a space to practice in small scale but also as an existing room that had the special ability to move. This interest, on the behalf of the architects, appears to never been decreased over time as we trace it out to our days and we see many contemporary architects to be involved in car design based on the city and the modern needs. Through these examples we see that the car has acquired a unique relationship with humans and is closely connected with him, as human evolves so does the car next to him. We see it changing and evolving since the beginning of its creation until the present day and remains to be seen what will happen in the future as the man and the city change and the lay the foundations for the changes to be made to it.
