On the occasion of the future deviation of the railway line in the region of mountain Kallidromos, we select a part of the wider way from Athens to Thessaloniki with nodal stations those of Lamia and Leivadia. The terminal stations of this deviation are those of Lamia and Tithorea which remain and constitute the limits of our research and observation.
In this part of the railway we attempt to inquire the traveler’s standpoint in correlation with the visual perception of the moving image. We try to create a recompose of the landscape by taking into consideration the train’s velocity and the rhythms produced by the railway route.
We use three key-terms(zone, object, visual field) in order to organize, observe and analyze the landscape. These key-terms are referred to all the scales and means of observation and elaboration that we use. They are modified and defined differently in the course of our research.
The research results in the creation of a personal ‘toolbox’ that contributes to the landscape’s reconstruction and redefinition.
