This research topic is considering, under the Urban Environmental Planning, appropriate use of green surfaces, vertical and horizontal in the built environment and presents the proposal for a bioclimatic component, a planted boom.
Initially, a short history in planted roofs is presented and an extensive and detailed study of the evolution of categories according to their construction, their advantages and disadvantages. It then follows a research for planting in the vertical axis, a study of vertical green walls and the respective types and exemplary applications, noting the emergence of an emerging, innovative architectural pattern.
As a result of research takes place the proposal planted boom, in order to rebuild the facades of City Hall Skenderani, located in the city of Volos in the Magnesia prefecture. Under this proposal, on the specially built building is proposed to hydroponic cultivation of the strawberry plant. The overall effect is to create a second building skin to improve the internal solar gains, the thermal comfort of the commercial property facing the real problem of overheating and dazzled because of excessive glazing sides while it is creating a pleasant outdoor atmosphere in the tight urban fabric of streets Dimitriados, Skenderani and Topali.
Finally, the proposed development is being presented in drawings and photorealism, is being explained its operation and it is given the expected results of shading Hall.
