Through this particular survey, it is pursued a kind of approximation and scanning of modern residence. Focal point is the broadest sense of residence, as well as the unit of residence and the multiplication of that unit resulting in the creation of block and flats. It focuses on the exact content of residential sense, not only in connection to values and qualitative necessities, but also in the matter of how these necessities are embodied.

 By analyzing the unit of a house, we emphasize to some of its characteristics: First of all, we mention some structural characteristics which adjust the internal and external out yard and secondly functional characteristics, which are referred to parts of the house that enclose various functions and year by year they are going under changes, as the residence changing too. Continued on the approximation of this project, it is detected the way of how the residence’s unit multiplied, becomes a block of flats. It is analyzed its structural and functional properties, as well as the new ¨imported¨ elements combined with the already existing, ending up to another new structure. This research intends to reveal how a modern residence looks like in our era, in addition to how this modern structure, house or block of flats, fulfils its role.
