In our Inquiring Subject we studied the school buildings of Cyprus which they present various problems with regard to their energy output. They present big consumption of energy and do not correspond in the required conditions optical and thermic comfort. For this aim we studied the particularities of climate of Cyprus as well as the Legislative Frame that concerns the buildings.
Then we ran through in international school groups that have adopted in their buildings systems of saving of energy as well as the international specifications that are in effect in school buildings. So that we draw conclusions we examined two schools in Cyprus, A’ Municipal School of Nisoy and B’ Municipal School Aradippoy. We studied their existing situation, with regard to the natural lighting, shading and requirements of thermic and cooling charges and propose techniques of energy rehandling aiming at the reduction of their consumption in energy. The proposed techniques for the rehandling of above schools are heating with solar inspiring wall and cooling with buried pipes and planted lofts. These techniques are easy and they could be also adopted from other schools.
