This research is concentrated in the development of lightweight metal structures, internationally and in Cyprus.
Firstly, the historical development of metal in the international space is studied, through its applications in bridges and buildings of different use. The study is then focused in the way that steel was used by architects and engineers in industrial buildings.
An extensive report is done in industrial buildings especially for international space. The project examines industrial buildings based on their structures and their forms, their plans and their sections. Also, it examines their elevations based on the analysis of their shells.
The next chapter, studies lightweight metal structures in Cyprus by once again examining their structural systems and their design principles.
In the end, the project concentrates in a comparison of this kind of structures in Cyprus and abroad.
