The research for the space of stopping behind a protected space, the reprocess, the mask, the false impression for whatis hidden behind it and what is created as a total with the place of the mask, led to a work-mask, a book, Stavros Kritiotis’ “The monthly diary of an absent”. The book was used as an example of what the mask represents as a meaning, for its main characteristic is the refusal to take the mask out to the end and because is always and only sought the false impression. The cover-up, the simulation, the revelation and the strategies that create or deter the disappearance are decisive matters for its architecture.
The process of writing the present essay watched the reading of the book in a non-linear way and at the same time it caused thoughts that strengthened the relation of the book with the space of mask. Afterwards, some of the writer’s sources were checked along with the extracts that were created from them. Finally, some other texts were used to justify the way in which the book was connected with the writer’s mask.
During my research, I kept in touch with the writer through e-mail, whose answers helped me out with the development of the course that I followed.
