Since the first industrial societies until now, the age of information, it is easy to say that letters and images constitute integral part of the cities. Architecture is capable to promote this communicational function, if it is practiced together with typography, the design discipline for producing letters nad images, under a total design program, which can be called typotecture. Typotecture has been practiced for about a century and developed, referring to its forms, fields and functions, without missing its initial intention, which is to produce functional and communicational forms. In its first samples, typography and architecture played their role seperately. However, nowadays, the current lifestyle in compination with the new design technologies which are the same to both typography and architecture, brough the two disciplines so close that their boundaries sometimes are not definite. New hybrid forms are being produced that are not a result of typographic or architectural design, but of typotectural.
