Our research topic is entitled Architecture and Tradition, narratives through the Thessalian courtyards. The research is set in the villages of the Thessalian Plain, as well as in the villages of Pelion. So we started looking for the historical significance of the concept of the ether, discovering certain elements that that create some specific rules. All this made us think, and pushed us to search and find the way traditional architecture works, and whether it follows these rules. Through some philosophical and architectural reflections, empirical observations, construction and topographical considerations, texts on tradition, and much more, we create an approach to the general concept of tradition, but also raises the question of how
tradition has engaged architecture. Through examples of technical features, we present the Roman logic and bioclimatic traditional approach, since a very large part of the traditional architecture refers to the connection with the existing landscape and nature. For the end it remained the most important part of the route of the of our research topic. It has to do with magic of the journey and the importance of the autopsy. We organized a trek to the our points of interest, in the villages of the Thessalian plain and the villages of Pelion, where we drew the most important part of our research our research. This is no other than the empirical part. The images, the landscapes, the interaction with the inhabitants of the villages, the testimonies and the climate, are things that no text and no writer can can offer us. So we have drawn some conclusions and some guidelines for the importance of tradition in the villages we visited, the importance of the courtyard in people's homes, their culture and their life, but also their everyday life in a desolate landscape trying in a modern world to keep the traditions.
