I researched the issue of functional and spatial flexibility in the field of housing. By clarifying and utilizing spatial concepts and related philosophical ideas about space, as well as ideas on the periphery — that is, the boundaries — of their meanings, I attempted to analyze innovative architectural applications in housing of different scales and construction identities. I consider this analysis to be an honest exploration in both a design and a political field. Focusing on the constitutive condition of flexibility, I examined the mechanisms that activate perception and the revision of spatial freedom - comfort specifications, as an attempt to interpret the environment defined as “residence” or “home.” The first part of the paper refers to a tactical - strategic positioning of concepts regarding housing and the condition of flexibility. In the second part, I present examples of residential projects, offering a critique of how they are inhabited and what relationship they verify in relation to the issue of flexibility
