The main axis of the research topic is materiality in order to investigate the potential of cast materials and consequently the dipoles that emerge pattern-mold, positive-negative. Great emphasis is also given to the concepts of recycling, feedback and the current issue of our ecological footprint. The research question is approached through the casting process and practices as well as the materialities that contribute to it. Testing and experimentation are key tools of the research methodology with the aim of searching for environmentally friendly cast materials, utilizing older casting techniques and exploring new technologies (3d printing). The aim of the research topic is the reflection of materiality in the digital world as well as the search for the scope of application in architecture, such as in the domestic sphere.
