The purpose of the research is the study of digital visualizations in modern architecture and the role of light within them.Digital computer visualization is a part of 3D representation in terms of reality due to the development of technology. The contribution of modernized technological programs and their possibilities have influenced digital visualizations, which perform hyper-realistic renderings, thus blurring the boundaries between the built environment and the image.
To understand the subject, the system of vision and perception is first studied, which also depends on the multisensory visual and tactile experience, which turns into memory. In other words, human vision is distinguished by focused vision that is activated when we see something from a certain distance and peripheral vision that is received through all the senses.
Next, reference is made to the characteristic elements of light in order to understand the role of light in the perception of space and the result of digital visualizations. Going deeper, the architectural representation is analyzed through the study of its historical course.Over the years, the spatial perception evolves and the tools of representation are modernized, where the changes at the level of society and economy in the period of the 19th century acted as a driving force.
Through the multitude of alternative forms and representation tools that have been developed, digital visualization seems to be the most prevalent in our time.Visualization refers to the process of producing an image or projection through a computer in which realism is sought and the actual geometric elements of the architectural work are depicted, as well as information related to the meaning and use of the architectural work.
Finally, in the context of this study, an attempt is made to identify common characteristics and patterns in the use of light as a tool in modern digital visualizations. In the framework of the work, the investigation of some dominant approaches of photorealistic depictions due to light is attempted.
