The area of the city is an important factor for the development of communities. The arrangement of houses, roads, businesses and public spaces, determines accessibility and functionality. The composition of cities is not only the existing structures but also the intangible yarns that "get involved" with each other to create the web of community life. The space, in addition to the extent between the roads and the buildings, becomes the mean, through which individuals interact, exchange ideas and create collectivities. This research addresses the identification of deep interactions between urban spaces, political dynamics and the impact of globalization, through an example of the city of Volos and the issue of concern to it, regarding environmental pollution and downgrading the health of its inhabitants, due to the existence of a cement industry (AGET-LAFARGE) next to it. This study examines, how the globalization and politics affect the city through spatial and social channels, exploring the consequences it has on the urban space and on the social fabric of the city's life. Through the collection of information and historical data, we will try to place the city issue in a time order as well as identify spaces that are related beyond its limits. At the same time through a theoretical background we will comment and understand this issue and through the creation of diagrams we will be able to visualize it.
