Lighting has the power to illuminate and exalt our experience of the city. This study presents the ways in which lighting, highlights the identity of a city, and intensifies activity in the economy and activity.
Based on historical events, the use of light in festivals and in the emergence of monuments and historic buildings it is happening for many years. Its Lighting’s influence in shaping our experience, over the years, in the built environment is considerable.
However, the lighting techniques and the lighting bodies themselves evolve and change. Now, understanding how much this tool can offer in our lives, we design lighting masterplans for entire cities by combining urban design with marketing.
The aim of any lighting project is to make α city more active and to connect cultural, economic, social , and political aspects of our society. The lighting of public spaces is important because of their power as an integral element of the development of an urban plan and the image of a city. The lighting of the buildings that mark the identity of the city, strengthen it by projecting its best parts to its visitors and forming a beautiful image for the walker. The city becomes attractive and the economy recovers. A typical example found in cities abroad are the lighting festivals that illuminate these buildings of the city.
Concluding, beyond the question of, "How does lighting affect the activity of the people at night" we're concerned about the evolution of light in our country. However, the bibliographic material is limited in this respect, so we have to draw conclusions on a practical level. Taking as a research area the beach in Volos we are invited to recognize the existing situation, study and comment on it.
