Micro-housing. A definition which refers to a tiny house in which you can live a well-organized and sufficient life, despite its tiny dimensions. Not only is it a small structure, but micro-housing also refers to a specific way of life with fewer goods but with a great meaning. The advantages of a tiny house are many and that is why a lot of people choose it, not only for a vacation house but also for a long-term living. Also in some circumstances, where financial issues are involved, this way of life is chosen by many people because a tiny house is also an affordable house.
Furthermore, this way of life in a tiny house, is also referred to with autonomy and disconnection from the public grid, thus making it self-sufficient and eco-friendly, due to the energy savings. This could be achieved by using technologies for an off-grid solution such as the use of solar power, rainwater etc.
Combining these two features of the its tiny dimensions and the technologies used, that make it sustainable, there can be found many examples all over the world. These examples, contain both houses whose structure has had other usage in the past and those whose structure is newly fabricated. Moreover, an analysis is being conducted about different types of building methods and materials, different means of production and different technology methods being used.
Eventually, after all this research, a proposal for a tiny house is made following designing and structural methods. This tiny living, will house inside of it a young couple. It will follow the rules of autonomy and will present off-grid technology solutions. Would this proposal meet the expectations of a small but functional house? Would it be sustainable?
