What is it that we first observe while gazing at a landscape? Usually the first to draw our attention are the mountains. Due to their size and their dynamic feeling they stand out from the rest of the surrounding elements. So, what do we call a mountain? How do we define them and on what criteria is that definition based on for each one of us? How does just thinking about them makes us feel and what kind of experiences do they bring to our minds? Why do we feel the desire for their discovery through hiking and mountaineering? What is it that drives us to seek contact with them and isolate ourselves in their landscapes, either by having a simple stroll or by the form of a short-term or long-term stay? What are the positive effects we experience? So much that we also use our architecture to empower this relationship? There are many questions regarding these volumes and their answers are usually very personal. Each one perceives them in a unique and subjective way. In an effort to explore our multi-level relationship with them, I end up giving my own answers to some of these questions, by discovering some things about them and by diving deep into my inner self. I am at the same time inviting everyone to do the same with themselves, wonder in order to try and find their own answers and interpretations while also discovering something about theirselves.
