In the present book a lot of considerable discussions are taking place, which are going to examine the ration between nature - culture in the modern society, studying the grove queries that arise on the terms of nature and ecology, as far as the architectural scientific field is concerned and the up to now unknown and unexplored landscape of countryside. In addition, concepts like “post-human landscapes”, “anthropocene” and the “ecological imaginary” are being thoroughly examined in an effort to be decoded and inserted in the field of research which is going to follow.
The architectural form, appropriates the surrounding space, in an effort to satisfy the human needs, defining an artificial limit, which is located in an outer background, in the wild life, the chaos, the only remaining exception of the architectural ‘’ inside’’. This typical city, did the same thing but in a more municipal scale: it contained the buildings of civilized public spaces ‘’inside’’ isolating it from the “outer” countryside. The contemporary metropolis mixes and stirs these contrasts, that once used to be stable and outstanding, clouding the limits of typical differences and spreads until the city itself, becomes a kind of scaffold and subsequently, a kind of nature, could someone say. This happened, because the idea of the nature itself, gradually changed (partly due to science but mainly due to industry), and in the first half of this assessment an effort is being done, for the better understanding of this relation.
At the same time, while the attention of the contemporary architectural community is absorbed by the city, many rural areas confront accelerating changes because of the increased automation and modernization , the occurrence of technology and the new systems, which reform the perspectives. Nowadays, the countryside is not only a paradoxical but also a reversed example for further clarification of the limits between nature and civilization dipole. The second half of the assessment focuses on the new data, that exist in the countryside during the digital period wondering what is going to be happened in the future.
