This present topic of research is related to both a study of the most dynamic decades, 90’s and 00’s, for the Dutch architectural production and the search of the circumstances, that they have formed it. This main subject does not try to present a simple historical retrospection, by mentioning projects, designed by famous national architects, and lowdowns of The Netherlands’ reality, but to highlight Dutch identity, by analyzing characteristics, which introduce The Netherlands’ society, city and culture, landscape and the international developments in history and theory of architecture. Startpoint for this research standed the interesting illustration of METROPOLIS magazine (01.2011), which appears the Office of Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) and Rem Koolhaas (founder of the office) as a beginning of a genealogy of relations of new and young architects and architectural groups with international appearance.
Architectural projects of the contemporary Dutch production, as footprints of current gestures and concepts are being gathered and extensively examined by means of comparison, discrimination of basic tactics (not only tectonic, but also functional ones), grouping/ matching and production of diagrams as a methodology for a conclusion drawing. This research tends to examine a network of Dutch examples, using as a point of view the relation between architectural program and architectural form. In this way, these two fundamentals architectural elements, related to topological and programmatic transformations, indicate the new Dutch identity, enriched with a range of innovations.
