Neon Genesis Evangelion consists of 16 episodes which were broadcasted in Japanese Television on channel TV Tokyo Network from October 1995 to March 1996. Studio GAINAX was responsible for the original production with Hideaki Anno as the director. Evangelion is one of the most popular disaster stories ever released from 1970 and is part of the geneology of mecha anime. The term mecha refers to a machine – war machine, or generally to humanoid robots, which in many cases moves on the ground or flies. Usually is piloting by a pilot who fights with the enemy of each story.
Young Shinji Ikari is summoned to the research lab NERV, a secret organization with his isolated father as the head of it. Supersized creatures named Angels mysteriously appeared and destroy the earth, and only the gigantic humanoids, Evangelions(EVAs) can defeat them. Shinji must pilot an EVA and battle hand to hand with the Angels, if humanity is to survive. Along with his co-pilots of EVAs, Rei Ayanami and Asuka Langley Sohryu, Shinji must work under the guidance of his commander and “stepmother” Misato Katsuragi in order to destroy the enigmatic 17 Angels and prevent the tremendous Third Impact, which will trigger the end of the world.
