Short bio:
Eleni Katrini is a designer and researcher with experience in academia, local government, private and voluntary sector. Her research, practice, and teaching focus on the fields of urban commons, sharing, collective housing, urban ecology, strategic and participatory design. Eleni has worked extensively on participatory projects in Greece, the US and UK. She enjoys exploring everyday social life through participation, research, observation, and visual storytelling. Through her work she aspires to make cities more environmentally regenerative and socially inclusive places to live in. 

She is currently a Postdoctoral Marie Curie Research Fellow and Adjunct Faculty at the School of Architecture, at the National Technical University of Athens. In the past, Eleni taught at the Schools of Architecture at Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Sheffield. She obtained her Architecture diploma from the National Technical University of Athens, her MS in Sustainable Design and PhD from Carnegie Mellon University. Her PhD thesis had the title: “Creating the Everyday Commons. Spatial Patterns of Sharing Culture”.

The contribution of Professor Spyros Papadopoulos of the University of Thessaly to the dynamic development of Greek animation will be post-mortem recognized by the Greek Animated Film Association ASIFA HELLAS at the Stratos Stasinos Awards Ceremony at the Hellenic American Union (22 Massalias Street, Athens) on Saturday, March 30th at 6:00 pm.

Spyros Papadopoulos was a member of ASIFA and the inspirer and organizer of the annual meeting "And yet it moves...", which brought together educators and festival organizers of animated designs every year at the Department of Architecture in Volos to promote the production of cartoons in Greece but also research and education in the moving image field.

The Greek Animated Film Association ASIFA HELLAS will award an honorary distinction to the family of Spyros Papadopoulos and the Greek animation community will undertake to continue his work on the path of developing collaborations between educators and creative people of Greek animation that the late Professor opened.

Short bio:
Dimitra Siatitsa is a postdoctoral researcher in urban and housing issues (NTUA/EKKE). She holds a PhD from the Department of Urban and Regional Planning (NTUA), a master’s degree on Architecture and Urban Culture (FPC- UPC) and a diploma on Architecture (NTUA). Her work focuses on housing and urban space, socio-spatial inequalities, public policies, alternative initiatives, and social movements, with an emphasis on Southern Europe. She has collaborated on research projects in Greece and European programs. She has professional experience in policy making in the field of social solidarity and housing, at local and central levels. She has teached urban planning and design at the School of Architecture of AUTH and in the postgraduate program for Social and Solidarity Economy at the Hellenic Open University. She is a founding member of the research-action group for cooperative housing CoHab and a member of the coordinating committee of the working group on Housing in Southern Europe of the ENHR.
