the linear city
The city develops along a track, acquiring a linear face that manifests itself through the traveller’s motion. The linear city is actually a city broken in two pieces and connected through the linear road. Therefore the linear city is the threshold between the two invisible cities. It is a city that its quality, its activities and its other urban characteristics are described through the road representation. It exists only if the road appears on the screen, as a slice of an imaginary city. This linear city is actually developing a narrative through time.
