INTERDISCIPLINARY APPROACHES OF THE ARCHITECTURAL THEORY(ECTS: )

SUBJECT

The Ιnterdisciplinary Theory of Architecture presents concepts of philosophy that are of interest for architecture in a particular way. The seminar is organized through a double strategy: on the one hand a theoretical vocabulary is elaborated (related to the translatability of concepts of philosophy to some "architectural language") and on the other, it names, reads and interprets existing "buildings". The reading is the central mechanism of entry into the world of architecture. The stabilization of a communication ground and the difficulties of this conceptual stabilization of meanings is shown through a historical context. The axis of the lectures is organized around the ability and the variety of architectural utterances. The final product of the theoretical laboratory is an "in design" file, organized as an association of a particular theoretical approach of a short text to an archive of images.
