The drastic changes that occur in all fields and levels of life, redefine the space and time, but especially the needs of human existence. The metabolism movement started as an attempt, to understand and interpret the new reality in the preamble of its occurrence, aiming at the transition of societies from the Age of Machine and west functionalism, to the Age of Life. With the creation of new models, terms and images, as well as promoting an independent architectural language for the new urbanization, the metabolists attempt in the establishment of a worldwide communicational system.
