As architects we draw for the humans. It’s very important to know in which way the space is affected from its user, as in the greatest part of our work we will not live in the space we developed. The aim of a building is to satisfy its habitant. So it’s basic to understand in which way the person identifies him in his home and finally arrogates it. A procedure which belongs to his needs and has already to confront lots of contrary forces. With this research work we will try to analyze and to understand the parameters in which this procedure is taking place.

 This work is separated in four parts. At the first part our interest will be the social and financial factors that influence the choices in the construction of a house and generally the choices of the habitant. At the next part we shall research the construction and in what ways may the habitants express themselves. At the third part we will analyze the needs that lead to the housing and those that are produced by the need of housing. At the end as we recapitulate we will come to the conclusion that the identification of the habitant in his housing is a need strongly combined with the basic need of housing.

 The information used were selected from an international bibliography, as from scientific researches which have taken place in Greece and Athens, with the aim to understand better the social and financial complexion there. From the bibliography have been chosen these parts that give the founding’s for our work, such as those that help the development of argumentation.
